I have the impression that some people travel just to show off. In social networks you can often see people who lead miserable lives and on a daily basis are either too broke or too tired to travel, but they still make a considerable effort to use all their holidays, their savings, their energy and time to go to some place where they’ll take literally hundreds of pictures just to publish them and look happy. (If you are offended by this statement, you should really stop to consider why it is bothering you.)
I like travelling less and less. I only travel if I can visit people I love, or if people I love are travelling with me. I personally travel only if there’s no better option, i.e. if the alternative to NOT travelling is out of the question. The tripthey’ll preparing for has nothing to do with pleasure. I’m not travelling to see the world, no, nor to marvel at people and places, not even for the challenge, but because the idea of not seeing my love for years is simply unbearable. The alternative to not going sucks, so I’ll go.
I truly hate the act of travelling, believe me, I do, but I have to admit that the memories that remain are usually positive. Eventually, all the pain and suffering of my trips fade away. Amazing, how the brain is able to forget trauma.

Why do YOU travel? In which of your destinations have you ever felt like singing ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe it, I’ve never been this far away from home‘? Come on, tell me and show off. And send me hundreds of pictures.
