Not knowing if you have what it takes sucks

Starting an adventure and not knowing if you´ve got what it takes to achieve your goal sucks. Maybe the best option to tackle this problem is travelling without a goal. Just take a step at a time, use a day-by-day focus instead of planning too much ahead.

I used to worry about being a loser, a quitter, or be slowing down my travel companions. Now I don’t stress no more. I’m happy if I survive the day without getting sick, getting killed or getting divorced. Are my travelling companions not happy with me? Well, they should find someone to replace me, then, and stop giving me a hard time. I travel at my own pace, folks. Don’t expect me to pedal as fast as I can because I’m saving my energy for the rest of the trip.

Down South, by Jeremy Loops, is a song that reminds me of a friend who once told me I was slowing him down and he wouldn’t be able to finish his trip if he waited for me. I decided to quit and he was happy to complete his journey, but he lost my trust and eventually my friendship.

I’m retaking this year the trip I abandoned back then. Places stay, people go.
